Your days in the Cirque de l'Ardeur are coming to an end. It will be less than 48 hours until you're allowed to leave if you choose so. With the finish line in sight, all one must do now is survive until then.

However...one or more people may not have gotten to.

When everyone wakes up, nothing seems off. There are no burning tents right now. Despite that, as soon as they get wandering around, they'll notice something awful happened last night.

It's time for the second performance of the Cirque de l'Ardeur to begin.

[She's here to drown her sorrows (not actually.) What does she see?]

[ The beer garden has seen better days. The damage isn't extensive, but some of the roses hanging on the trellis here have fallen onto the floor, and there's petals and leaves strewn about on the ground.

More eye-catching is that there seems to be a mess happening over by one of the tables. ]

[Okay, check out the table for now...]

[ On the table is a pile of assorted boardgames! Looks like someone was bored? They're stacked pretty orderly and not messy at all except... there's a bunch of bright red plastic monkeys scattered around the table and onto the floor.

may the monkeys rest in pieces. ]

[Raven weeps for the monkeys???

Can she find the rest of the monkey boardgame?]

[ She can! It looks like it rolled under the table. There is a lone surviving monkey inside.

While she's kneeling to assess the monkey carnage, she'll notice something else on the floor: a book. ]

[azaroth]

[OHOHO???

She picks up the book and the monkey container, let's get a look at the title and blurb....]

[wringmaster]

[ There is no title and blurb, actually. What there is instead is a star embossed on the front. The book is leather bound and looks pretty old.

Open it? ]

[azaroth]

[Yes, time to open it and have a read...]

[wringmaster]

[ Raven opens the book expecting a story of some sort. What she finds is...

Herself getting sucked into the book, goodbye.

Raven is missing(?) ]

[wringmaster]

[ Wherever she is, she finds herself in a sleigh in the middle of a forest, a blizzard pressing down on her.

This is now a christmas murdergame. ]

Looking around herself. She's in a thin cape and fucking tights??? Why would you do this to her, book??]

[Wait no, this entirely tracks for strange books you find on the ground. Great! Love this!

Okay... time to... start moving. Is she on a slope she can sleigh down on? Also.]

HELLO!? [She manages to yell that out pretty loudly!]

[ Clover's finally awake after that announcement. After quickly picking up Money, she'll walk over to the beer garden, because uh. Reasons.

She doesn't want to get in Raven's way, so uh, is there anything not around Raven that catches her eyes? Or will she just spend too much time staring at Money and wondering if it's okay for both of them to get drunk. ]

[ Money no...

All the stuff of interest is around Raven, but since she's focused on what's on the ground clover can look at the other object on the table besides the boardgames. It's a glass of wine.

...this is just the thing to give to her and money huh. ]

[ Sure is! Thankfully, she ain't enough of a clown to drink random wine left out.

She's gonna keep a respectful distance from the glass just in case Money gets any funny ideas, but that won't stop her from trying to investigate. Anything chipped or imprinted on this mysterious glass?

...Actually, now that she thinks about it, that wine better not be blood. ]

[ Nothing chipped or imprinted. As for whether the wine(?) is blood, it is red and there's not much left in the glass. From a distance she can't make a concrete call on whether it is wine or not. ]

[ Oh, fine, closer it is at the risk of Money shenanigans. How's the possibly-not-wine looking now? Still sus? Also, does it look like someone drank from it? ]

[wringmaster]

[ It does look like someone drank from it! And it is clearly red wine, yay. Also good news, Clover gets close enough just to see Raven be sucked into a book. ]

What the hell! How the—you have gotta be shitting me!

[ Time for her to abandon the glass for now, because it's panic time, featuring a loud teenage girl who might've startled a monkey into screaming as well. ]

Spit her out, you rotten book, or I'll rip your pages out!

[ RIP the eardrums of anyone around. She'll be like this for a while. ]

[ ... so as much as it looked like Raven was gone, when Clover gets closer she'll actually see that:

Raven is still there. It might have been a trick of the light or something, but she's kneeling down, completely zoned out staring at the book. Hurray! ]

Um...Raven?

[ What the deuce? Okay, that shocks her enough to shut up for a single moment. She'll go closer, looking back and forth between Raven and the book before crouching. ]

Err...okay, Sir Bookingham, I won't rip you to itty-bitty pieces? So, can you....not do whatever you're doing?

[wringmaster]

[ Raven doesn't respond but she does seem to twitch slightly. Sir Bookingham does not respond. ]
