The show starts with not a bang, but smoke, and the exit of Diluc and Fujino stage left. Once everyone's had some time to poke around the circus and examine what happened last night, Joker calls everyone to the Main Tent. (Those who would try to ignore the summons will find themselves magically rerouted no matter how hard they try.)

Inside the stands look much like they did over the week, although spotlights are trained on some of the profiles in particular. Twelve of them, actually.

In the middle on the raised platform, Joker stands with Gina, grinning ear to ear.





[[Welcome to your first trial! You will have 8 hours (8PM EST) to find out whodunnit. You may vote for any of the suspects at anytime prior to the end of trial, and you are free to change your vote as many times as you like.

About halfway through the trial, there will be the opportunity for room searches for four(4) of the suspects. ]]

[ Tokiko still looks a little tired when she gets here - she did jump straight into the magic bonfire after all.

But when she looks at the spotlights, a lot of that evaporates and she smiles. ]

Ah. There we go.

[ It seems she's expected this. ]

[Two people are dead, and she’s a suspect…there’s handling with stress and then there’s this.]

Happy? No, I'm not pleased it's come to this in the slightest.

[ She's still smiling though. ]

Things just went about as I expected.

Then why…?

[He shakes his head.]

Because you expected someone to die, or because they’re suspecting you did it?

Both, I suppose.

Having it confirmed to me that supernatural causes do exist, I couldn't help but wonder... is the pattern I told you about really no more than coincidence? Will it follow me here?

[ And this is certainly tipping the scales towards a possible answer. ]

[In contrast, Subaru seems to only get more worked up.]

Even if it did - could that even count as your responsibility? That’s - it’s not even like you would’ve done anything!

Unless I turn out to be the culprit, of course. You can't discount that possibility for the duration of this affair.

[ Her smile's a little softer though, how sweet of him... ]

But if I'm not, this is still valuable information to me.

[He nods firmly. He doesn’t believe she could’ve done this; perhaps she is capable, but for someone who is followed by death, he can’t imagine why she’d choose to have more blood on her hands.]

Then I’ll be sure to help prove your innocence, so you can work out what to do with it.

[ Tokiko pauses for a moment, inhaling deeply. ]

Thank you. I also don't want to be condemned for an act I did not commit, after all.

I've been investigated as a suspect for several potential murders recently.

From the sounds of it, you're also a suspect veteran?

Yeah!! And that's exactly why I'm not calm!!!!

Well, did you do it?

Then you'll just have to prove it, right?

I... I don't know how to do that! Last time I had a defense attorney!!!

No better time to learn than the present.

For my part, I certainly don't appreciate what happened to Fujino-san, so I'll be trying my best to find the truth. Maybe you will profit from that as well.

[unsweeten]

Y-yeah... I guess I don't have much of a choice, huh?

[ Is it. ]

[So this is part of what she meant, then. Unlike some of the others freaking out or expressing disgust, she just looks over at Tokiko, tired.]

It keeps happening. To you, too, doesn't it?

[ Oh? Tokiko looks a bit taken aback by the understanding. Raven is really keeping her word of accepting her. ]

Indeed. I can't seem to catch a break recently.

[Her mouth twists in something akin to bitter amusement.]

Well. The reminders keep coming.

... yes. And then you realize it's better to never forget in the first place.

[She's silent for a moment, frowning to herself and mulling over that bitter sentiment.]
